Transilvanian hunger

"Proszę posłuchać. Dzieci nocy. Jakaż to muzyka!" Bram Stoker

'Listen to them, the children of the night. What sweet music they make!' Bram Stoker

Vampires are magnificent. They are fairly fashionable nowadays, but to me it's rather harmful for the 'children of the night'. Popular culture has robbed them of their dignity and mystery, making them just another trendy thing. The way vampires look and live (sic!) in the present-day films and TV series simply isn't my cup of tea! I remember well my performance as a vampire at a school song contest. The reaction was far from being great and the audience was rather baffled by my show. As an older girl I spent hours playing the game Vampire: The Dark Ages and experienced many adventures in a very memorable company. Years later I had great fun at a vampire ball in an old castle. But now they will not baffle anyone. Maybe you will be impressed by Nosferatu - the character from the 1922 film 'Nosferatu: A Symphony of Horror'. I suppose you wouldn't like to have a cup of coffee with this eponymous personage. Out of fondness for Bram Stoker's classic book stems the transilvanian entry in my art journal. Sweet dreams :)
