Secret of Nature

Here’s the latest entry in my art journal, based on the Lost&Found collection. The entry, devoted to the secret of Nature, includes earthly colours, nature-based patterns and vintage additions. You can find some information on how I came up with this spread on 7 Dots Studio blog.

I used:
7 Dots Studio – Lost and Found – Stained, Word Stickers 6×12, Lost and Found – Tags 12×12, Element Stickers 6×12, Clear Stamps, Yuletide – Sugarplum, Chipboard

Oto najnowszy wpis w art journalu oparty na najnowszej kolekcji Lost&Found. Poświęcony sekretom natury, bazuje na przyrodniczych deseniach, stonowanych kolorach i vintagowych dodatkach, a krótką historię jego powstania możecie prześledzić na blogu 7 Dots Studio.

Family Tree - Finnabair Creative Team

This time Spread Your Wings Academy focuses on creating layers. For my part, I wanted to build a solid and heavy arrangement with dimentional additions. Layering in this case served as the background for the contrastive family tree.
I carelessly aranged a composition of chipboards and Mechanicals which I fixed to a canvas panel thanks to 3D Matte Gel. When everything dried up, I put a generous coat of both Texture Pastes with white crackle and white sand finishes. The composition became even and chunky.

I added a pinch of Art Sugar and Micro Beads on the wet surface. To my surprise Mica Flakes turned out to be icing on the cake. After slightly misting and drying the whole, I stamped it with various patterns.

On such prepared background I glued twigs and portraits in Mechanicals frames creating the family tree. The last step consists of labelling the family members, adding beads, a snail shell and more Micro Beads. I also used a black fineliner to accent dimentional elements. Ready!

Don't forget to see the entire post on Finnabair blog and have a nice evening!

Art Seeds - Finnabair Creative Team

It was such a nice evening spent with Finn's products...
Nature is an inspiring and amazing source of its little miracles, which we can constantly admire.
The dried poppy heads became the most precious element in the embellishment of the journal’s cover art.
I started work on the cover art of my journal with applying a thick coat of White Crackle Texture Paste and glueing the poppy-heads together with the leaf-shaped Mechanical. Both media were applied with my finger.
Afterwards, I scattered the damp surface with Micro Beads and Glass Beads.

When everything dried, I added Black Gesso without much concern for neatness.
Next, I started to decorate the cover applying Mica Powders mixed with 3D Matte Gel. All the tiny corners I had not reached, were sprayed with graphite mist.

More Mica Powders and Micro Beads were added. It was high time to embellish the round portrait glued into one of the Mechanicals pendants. The final effect was achieved thanks to Glass Beads, Micro Beads and 3D Gloss Gel. I left the whole thing to dry overnight.

I glued the letters from the Mechanicals Typewriter Words and the cut out sentence from a book in the left lower corner of my cover. I couldn’t resist the urge to add a bit of Micro Beads and Antique Silver Art Sugar here and there.

The last step was to glue the round portrait to the poppy-heads composition. I was finally able to fit the dried up cover to my art journal. The cover looked really in its place!

So all that is left for you to do is simply to go outside, carefully look around at all the beautiful forms, shapes and colors offered to us by the nature and find your piece of inspiration. Just enjoy your summer!
