Lunar waltz

Kolekcja Destination Unknown i pochodzący z niej wzór przedstawiający gwiezdne konstelacje rozpalił moją wyobraźnię od pierwszego wejrzenia. Korespondujące z nim słowa są jednocześnie uniwersalne i wyszukane, przez co można się pokusić o ułożenie ich w poetyckie wersy. Powyższe mówią o tym, że jesteśmy powiązani relacjami niczym gwiazdozbiory w srebrzystych promieniach księżyca.

Destination Unknown collection and its Celestial paper printed in depictions of constellations was a spark to kindle my imagination. Corresponding words are so universal and sublime at the same time that they might be cut into poetic verses. Mine refer that we are like stars in relations bonded by silver moonbeams.

In the long autumn evenings the best companions are a warm blanket, a cup of tea and a book which interests both older and younger members of a family. How wonderfully pleasant it is to discover  together beauty of nature, to admire serene illustrations and to dig deep into the world of forest adventures and victorian tales. We would like to recommend:

• 'Tales of Beatrix Potter', which belong to classics of literature for children. These amusing stories are filled with animals dressed in old-fashioned clothes who get into troubles, run a shop and drink afternnoon tea,
• 'Linnea's Almanac' by Christina Bjork is a collection of tips how to dry and press flowers, how to make a wreath, how to cook nettle soup or weave a crown of autumn leaves,
• 'The Sun Egg' by Elsa Beskow is a enchantingly illustrated story of an elvish girl and her puzzling treasure in mysterious Scandinavian woods.

Wszystko co przedstawia lub opiewa naturę jest mi bliskie. Dlatego też nie mogłam oprzeć się wyjątkowej kolekcji Nature Walk, choć nowa jest równie piękna, stonowana i poświęcona odkrywaniu nieznanego. Obie cudownie się uzupełniają i tworzą zgrany tandem. Ich przyrodnicza tematyka zainspirowała mnie do wykonania okładki encyklopedii fauny i flory. Dodatki od UmWow okazały się być wisienką na torcie.

As anything depicting nature soothes my senses I couldn’t resist earthly collection titled Nature Walk. The new one is also amazing, softly toned and devoted to the great unknown. They both come together as a well-knit duo and I used them to create a cover for the encyclopedia of fauna and flora. UmWow additions turned out to be the frosting on the cake.

Celebrate life

Zwykły gładki notes wyglądał bezbarwnie i z pewnością wymagał odrobiny modyfikacji. Stare zdjęcia wraz z krótkim aczkolwiek treściwym przesłaniem okazały się miłym dodatkiem.

A plain notepad looked bland and it definitely needed a bit of modification. Vintage photos along with a short but valuable message turned out to be an appropriate addition.

Under the harvest moon

I'm so honored to be a part of the premiere issue of Bella Grace, a new book-like publication by Stampington. This outstanding magazine celebrates the beauty of the ordinary and is devoted to discovering magic in everyday moments. I was gifted with a copy to give away as part of the Bella Grace Blog Hop! I will also add a canvas from the previous post titled Inner sight. For a chance to win, leave a comment on this post telling about your little early autumn pleasures. Forest walk is my daily routine. Nature nourishes, calms and inspires me constantly. The autumnal equinox is near and a harvest moon will soon shine brightly. Sometimes I think that I could be able to live in a remote hut and be a picker who can live on forest floor findings. The sky is pink and golden when we are going home with full baskets. These modest treasures are gifts of September.

Heather: I bring bunches of them and put into pots and vases. They hang tied in wreaths which I weaved during woodland picnics. A stroll through the moors makes me drift away to a Victorian atmosphere of wuthering hights.

Acorns: In scandinavian folklore they stand for strenght and good fortune. Due to their perfect shape I used to gather them for decorating purposes or to play with my children and create fairy houses as well as their tiny inhabitants.

Pinecones: I collect them in any size and kind. Similarily to acorns they are perfect for keeping in jars and making natural garlands. When heated with candles they smell of pinewood and summer days. They stand for wisdom of nature and fertility.

Mushrooms: with their vivid colours and velvet cups they are the most picturesque findings in mossy undergrowth. Poisonous dotted amanita is an ideal spot to play fairies who employ them as stools. Instead of an edible one, here comes a tasty trophy as both picking and preparing boletus with cream and herbs are among my favourite autumnal pastimes.

Cranberry: last fruit which forest bears before misty and chilling days to come. A bit sour, they joyfully shine in the first autumn sunbeams. Even if we can't find a whole basket, a handful of them is enough to feed my little girl's dinosaurs.

Mam nadzieję, że letnie dni napawają Was uśmiechem. Relax w cieniu z zapasem czekoladek i szklanką kompotu nie ma sobie równych. A jeśli pudełko po czekoladkach opustoszeje, kartonik też może dostarczyć odrobinę radości. Na jego bazie powstał komplecik składający się z zalterowanego pudełka po czekoladkach, journala i kartki, a kursik możecie znaleźć na blogu 7 Dots Studio.

I hope that sunny summer days make you smile. For my part, relaxation in a shade with some chocolate is a pure bliss. But even if chocolates are gone the box where they used to spend their short time can also make my day. I came up with a set of an altered chocolate box, a journal and a card. Leśne przechadzki to kojący i inspirujący sposób na letnie popołudnie. Drzewa szumią, czarują i doradzają jak znaleźć własną ścieżkę, rozwijać się, rozłożyć szeroko ramiona do lotu, zakorzenić się pośród innych i tworzyć nowe na bazie starego. Z podziwu nad pięknem natury i poczucia odnalezienia spełnienia pośród kołyszących się świerków powstała leśna zbieranina, w której użyłam zarówno naturalnych znalezisk z leśnego runa oraz cudownych elementów z kolekcji Nature walk. Tworzą razem miłe połączenie.

Woodland walk may be calming and inspiring pastime. Forest hushes, delights and advises how to find own path, start from the ground, stretch arms, root for others and recycle. Out of deep admiration and feeling that one may find himself among high trees comes the woodland canvas. I used both natural findings from the forest floor and wonderful elements from Nature walk collection. They certainly well go together.

Rule of thirds: wild berries

Wraz z poplamioną sukienką, poplamionymi dłońmi, poplamioną twarzą, pokłutymi palcami i słodkim zapachem świeżo zerwanych owoców lato sypnęło wyczekanymi dzikimi jagodami. Są już więc:

• jeżyny,
• poziomki,
• jagody

Pośród zielonych gałązek kuszą swoim zapachem, smakiem i wyglądem. Ale strzeżcie się wilczych jagód znanych jako atropa belladonna, które pomimo apetycznego wyglądu są bardzo trujące. Pamiętajcie, że:

Lepiej ropuch sześć zjeść
niż dzikim jagodom dać się zwieść.

Cieszcie się darami lata i jego kreatywnością!

With stains on dress, stains on hands, stains on face, pricked fingers and incredible fragrance of newly picked woodland fruits here come summer wild berries:

• blackberries,
• wild strawberries,
• blueberries

They are long awaited and adored for their smell, taste and look. But beware of the deadly nightshade known as atropa belladonna which is highly poisonous. Remember that:

On the river bank

Sposób w jaki zwykło się spędzać czas wolny w minionych czasach jest urzekający. Nie ma nic lepszego, aby się zrelaksować i aktywnie wypocząć niż pohasać beztrosko na łonie natury z dala od zdobyczy techniki. W upalny dzień na piaszczystym brzegu rzeki pozuje moja babcia. Urokliwe otoczenie, szykowna aranżacja oraz vintagowy klimat składają się na sentymentalny urok powyższej fotografii. The way people used to spend their spare time years ago was spellbinding and there is nothing better to wind down than frolics in the bosom of nature. The picture I used above depicts my grandma and was taken during a hot summer day on the river bank. Both natural surroundings and vintage air of this photo are perfect companions. Mam słabość do dawnych zdjęć i pamiątek, których pochodzenie i okoliczności powstania są okryte tajemnicą. Lubię przeglądać stare albumy i tworzyć własne wersje ludzkich losów i koligacji rodzinnych. Często zagadkowe historie sportretowanych postaci zostaną na zawsze nieodgadnione. Urzekające portrety z kolekcji Cold Country idealnie nadają się do snucia domysłów o ludzkiej naturze. I’m fond of vintage photos and memorabilia. I love to rearrange some discarded pieces of someone else’s memories and assemble them anew to obtain an alternative picture of their destiny. I try to put new life into their deeds and feelings and tell an invented story. The above spellbinding portraits are more than perfect to conjecture on human nature.
